While in Tenerife, I sometimes have a toast with either hummus or with some canned fish (sardines, mackerel, tuna) for afternoon snack. Today I couldn't decide which one so I decided to have both hummus and sardines.

It was really not bad at all. If you feel like trying, just go ahead. It is completely edible. Perhaps you will like it more than I do (or perhaps less, who knows).
Still, I think that myself, I will continue consuming them separately in the future. Or maybe I should try hummus with mackerel next time.
The Hacendado hummus from Mercadona, by the way, is really good for a supermarket hummus. But maybe better without sardines.
UPDATE 28-MAR-2026: I tried now it with tuna and it worked better than with sardines. The combination of hummus and tuna on a toast is not bad at all. I may even have it again at some other time.
UPDATE 2-APR 2026: And now I finally tried also with mackerel (or more exactly "chub mackerel" or "southern mackerel", in Spanish caballa del sur). It was also very good, quite alike tuna. So it was just my first try with hummus and sardines that didn't work so well.
